Rufus Sewell & More Tapped for Art in London

first_img Three friends and a white painting. Tony nomines Rufus Sewell and Paul Ritter, along with Tim Key, will star in Art at the Old Vic. Translated by Tony and Oscar winner Christopher Hampton, Tony-winning director Matthew Warchus has reunited the original creative team for the revival of Yasmina Reza’s acclaimed modern classic. The play will begin previews on December 10, and officially open in London on December 20.Sewell is set to take on the role of Serge. Tony nominated for Rock N’ Roll, additional stage credits include Closer, Old Times, Macbeth, Translations and Arcadia. His extensive screen work includes Victoria,The Man in the High Castle, Gods of Egypt, Hercules, The Sea, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, The Holiday, Amazing Grace, The Illusionist, A Knight’s Tale, Illuminata, Parade’s End, Taming of the Shrew Charles II, Middlemarch and Cold Comfort Farm.Ritter will appear as Marc; he received a Tony nod for The Norman Conquests. Other theater credits include The Audience, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, The Hothouse and Coram Boy. Key is set to play Yvan; on stage he’s been seen in Tree. Screen credits include Midmorning Matters, Peep Show and the upcoming Foreign Bodies.The production will feature design by Mark Thompson, with lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Mic Pool and music by Gary Yershon.
