Photo credit: voiceseducation.orgHAVANA, Cuba (ACN) — The 23rd Pastors for Peace Caravan, which continued its tour of the US last week, has already collected almost 100 tons of items, mostly computers, medicines, school material and medical equipment for Cuba.The contributions are principally for the benefit of sectors like sports, health and education that have been hit harder by the US embargo against Cuba, the Prensa Latina news agency reported. During their tour, the activists updated the public on the negative effects of the embargo.Over the last few days, the Caravan has visited cities like Chicago (Illinois), Berkeley (California) and Bloomington, (Indiana), as part of a program that took it to Little Rock (Arkansas), Birmingham (Alabama), Pleasant Hill (Tennessee), Pensacola, (Florida) and Silver City (New México) on Thursday.Its members plan to visit at least 90 locations, before meeting on July 19 in McAllen, Texas, to cross the Mexican border, and from there transport its humanitarian cargo to the Caribbean island.The 23rd Caravan has over 60 members, from Canada, the US, Germany, the United Kingdom and Mexico.
