Eagles Land In Russia Ahead Of Huge Argentina Clash

first_imgThe Super Eagles of Nigeria have touched down in Russia ahead of the big international friendly clash with 2-time world champions Argentina.The team’s status was revealed via the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles on Saturday night. The friendly match between the two countries is scheduled for the Krasnodar Stadium in Krasnodar on Tuesday, November 14 and is part of preparations for the two teams ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia.The last time both teams met was in the group stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and it was Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi who stole the show as he scored a brace to lead Argentina to a 3-2 win. Kotoko eye more wins after recording first victory in Glo Premier League

first_imgAsante Kotoko board member Jerry Asare says the club’s first victory at the weekend in the Glo premier league has paved way for an unending winning streak.The porcupine warriors finally recorded their first victory in this season’s premier league after beating Berekum arsenal 2-0 at the Baba Yara stadium on Sunday. After struggling to find their rhythm in the last four premier league matches the porcupine warriors were on top of their game as Michael Helegbe and Ugandan import Joseph Ochaya scored two second-half goals to end their poor run.“This begins our winning spree and there was no way we were going to lose the match”, said Jerry Asare“I’m excited we have recorded our first victory, our supporters were down having drawn the four opening matches and this victory I must say will motivate us to do more in our subsequent matches”.And the win will serve as a timely boost ahead of their crucial visit to the Tartwa T&A Park where they face leaders, Medeama next Sunday.
