Although six persons remain in custody for hurling a grenade at a vehicle belonging to Kaieteur News Publisher Glenn Lall, the Police are tracking several others in relation to the incident which occurred last Saturday evening.Acting Crime Chief, Hugh Jessamy told Guyana Times that investigators were up to late Wednesday evening interrogating those who were arrested on Tuesday evening at several locations. They were arrested following the discovery of the motorcar that was allegedly used by the perpetrators. The car that was allegedly used by the perpetrators during the grenade attackJessamy added that the Police are working on several leads but cannot divulge any information with respect to the investigation. He further stated that before the Police institute charges against the men, there needs to be sufficient evidence, hence, an early court appearance might not be possible. The acting Crime Chief added that investigators are yet to verify whether or not the motorcar that was found abandoned was the one actually used in the commissioning of the crime.Guyana Times understands that the men in custody are from the Sophia area including the driver, who claimed that he was hijacked but after further interrogation, he told investigators that the car was lent to a friend.Initially, the driver claimed that he was driving along Albert Street, Alberttown when two men on a motorcycle pulled up alongside him, pulled out a weapon and ordered him to stop the vehicle. Without hesitation, he told ranks that he complied.Based on information gathered from the driver, the others were taken into police custody. On Saturday night, as Kaieteur News held its first night of wake to pay respect to the late Assistant Editor, Dale Andrews who passed away on Friday, the live grenade was hurled at Lall’s vehicle.Persons who were at the wake recalled hearing a strange sound but assumed it was shattering glass. However, when a thorough check was made, the grenade was found lying next to the right front tyre of Lall’s black Lexus vehicle. The Police were summoned and the area was immediately cordoned off while bomb experts deactivate the device. They noted it was a miracle that the live grenade did not explode. On Monday, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told Guyana Times that the grenade was detonated at the seawalls and that it was too early to determine the motive for the attack. This attack was condemned by several groups including the Government, the Opposition, the Guyana Public Service Union, the Private Sector Commission and several other news outfits. In addition, they have all called for a speeding investigation into the incident, referring to the attack as domestic terrorism.

Unai Emery’s side are struggling in the League and coming off a 3-1 home defeat against Man United in the FA Cup. With the League title looking out of sight for the Gunners, only a top four finish can save their season. With United hot on their heels, they know that there is no room for error against Cardiff on Tuesday evening.Arsenal expect to be without Sokratis for at least a fortnight because of an ankle problem sustained during Friday’s FA Cup defeat. Fellow central defender Laurent Koscielny bruised his jaw in that tie and is also likely to miss out.Cardiff manager Neil Warnock must decide which players are in the right frame of mind to be involved following the disappearance of Emiliano Sala. Sean Morrison remains out following an appendicitis operation.Arsenal are unbeaten in 14 competitive meetings, winning all three of their Premier League fixtures against Cardiff. The Bluebirds have lost their last six away games against Arsenal in all competitions. Cardiff’s only two top-flight victories in this fixture both came in the 1960-61 season. The Gunners have won five successive Premier League home games, and are unbeaten in their past 11 at the Emirates Stadium (W9, D2). Arsenal have won 32 and drawn one of their 33 home matches against sides in the relegation zone since a defeat by West Ham in April 2007. They are also undefeated in their 23 most recent league encounters at the Emirates against promoted sides, winning 20 and keeping 14 clean sheets. Arsenal could keep consecutive Premier League clean sheets for only the second time this season.Fulham vs BrightonCraven Cottage, LondonTuesday, 29-01-2019 @10:45pmReferee: Lee ProbertFulham have no fresh injury concerns but Aboubakar Kamara remains suspended indefinitely by the club following an incident at the training ground. Defender Leon Balogun has overcome the illness that ruled him out on Saturday.Fulham are winless in the past six meetings, ending a five-match losing streak against Brighton with a 2-2 draw in September’s reverse fixture. Brighton have won three successive league games at Craven Cottage, scoring twice each time.Huddersfield vs EvertonThe John Smith Stadium, West YorkshireTuesday, 29-01-2019 @10:45pmReferee: Scott AttwellJan Siewert’s first match as Huddersfield Town’s head coach could coincide with the return of key midfielder Aaron Mooy after seven weeks out with a knee ligament injury. Abdelhamid Sabiri is also back in training but the game comes too soon for Philip Billing and Danny Williams.Everton remain without Phil Jagielka, while Yerry Mina is a major doubt because of a foot problem. Idrissa Gueye is expected to play after the club turned down a bid from PSG.Huddersfield are winless in 10 attempts against Everton in all competitions since a 1-0 top-flight victory in March 1956 (D5, L5). Everton have kept a clean sheet in three of their past four top-flight meetings with Huddersfield.Wolves vs West HamMolinuex Stadium, West MidlandsTuesday, 29-01-2019 @10:45pmReferee: Dean CooteWolves defender Willy Boly serves the final game of a three-match ban. They made six changes at Shrewsbury and will recall key players such as Diogo Jota, Raul Jimenez and Rui Patricio.Marko Arnautovic could make his first West Ham appearance since 12 January after signing a new contract, ending speculation he may leave this month. The fit-again Ryan Fredericks could play his first league game for over two months, but Lucas Perez is ruled out after hurting his ankle on Saturday. The Hammers made six changes for their FA Cup defeat against AFC Wimbledon and regular starters such as Lukasz Fabianski, Declan Rice and Felipe Anderson are likely to return.Wolves won 1-0 at the London Stadium in September, but they have not beaten West Ham in a top-flight game at Molineux since a 2-1 victory in May 1982. These sides have contested 59 league games over the last 99 years – but a Wolves win would complete the double over the Hammers for the first time.Man United vs BurnelyOld Trafford, ManchesterTuesday, 29-01-2019 @11pmReferee: Jonathan MossMan United are flying at the moment, winning all their last 7 games ever since Ole Gunner Solksjear took over. Coming off a magnificent 3-1 win away to Arsenal in the FA Cup, they will be confident they can continue their push for a top 4 finish when they host a Burnely side that has not defeated them at Old Trafford since 1962.Chris Smalling is back in contention for Manchester United after recovering from a foot problem that has kept him sidelined since 8 December. Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini remain out, while David de Gea will return after being rested at Arsenal.Robbie Brady is doubtful for Burnley after being forced off against Manchester City with a groin problem. Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Phil Bardsley face late fitness tests ahead of Tuesday’s match. The Clarets made seven changes for Saturday’s FA Cup defeat and will recall a number of key of players to the starting line-up.Manchester United are unbeaten in 19 home games against Burnley in all competitions since a 5-2 defeat in the top flight in September 1962. The Clarets have drawn their last two matches at Old Trafford (0-0 in 2016 and 2-2 in 2017), with only a stoppage-time equaliser from Jesse Lingard denying them victory there last season. Home and away, Burnley have registered just one victory in the past 26 meetings (D10, L15). Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can become the first manager to begin his reign at a club with seven successive Premier League victories. He is currently level on six wins with Pep Guardiola (at Manchester City in 2016) and Carlo Ancelotti (with Chelsea in 2009). Manchester United have been awarded seven Premier League penalties this season, more than any other side – while opponents Burnley are one of two clubs yet to be given a spot-kick (along with Huddersfield).Newcastle vs Man CitySt. James Park, NewcastleTuesday, 29-01-2019 @11pmReferee: Paul TierneyMan City are currently enjoying their best run of form this season, winning all of their last 8 games in all competitions and scoring 33 goals in the process. With Liverpool still 4 points clear at the top of the League, Pep Guardiola’s side can’t afford to slip up if they are to retain the title they won last season. Against Newcastle, they come up against a side that sits only two points off relegation despite defeating Cardiff City 3-0 in their last League game.Newcastle made seven changes for Saturday’s FA Cup defeat by Watford and will recall a number of key players, including top scorer Salomon Rondon. Fellow forward Joselu is out with a sprained ankle, while midfielders Mohamed Diame, Jonjo Shelvey and Ki Sung-yueng are also sidelined.Manchester City will monitor left-back Benjamin Mendy. He missed City’s last game after complaining of a swollen knee following his comeback from injury at Burton. Vincent Kompany is again unavailable because of a muscle problem that has ruled him out of the last six matches. City made four changes for Saturday’s FA Cup win against Burnley, and players such as David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Aymeric Laporte are likely to return to the starting line-up.Newcastle are winless in their last 22 Premier League games against Manchester City (D3, L19). It is both the Magpies’ longest winless run and City’s longest unbeaten streak against a particular top-flight opponent. The Magpies’ last league win against City came on 24 September 2005, with Michael Owen scoring the only goal at St James’ Park. Newcastle did, however, win a League Cup game at the Etihad Stadium in October 2014.AFC Bournemouth vs ChelseaVitality Stadium, DorsetWednesday, 30-01-2019 @10:45pmReferee: Roger EastNine wins, three draws and 11 defeats – that is how Bournemouth have performed in the Premier League this season. A total of 30 points has left them in 12th position, level on points with 11th-placed Everton. The Cherries are only three points off the top seven, meanwhile, and despite some poor results in recent weeks, are 11 points clear of the relegation zone with 15 matches of the 2018-19 campaign left. Bournemouth’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the third round of the FA Cup means that they had a free weekend ahead of the clash with Chelsea, which head coach Eddie Howe would have certainly welcomed.Chelsea will enter Wednesday’s clash with Bournemouth off the back of a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday evening. It was vital that the Blues returned to winning ways following the defeat at Arsenal on January 19 and a certain Gonzalo Higuain made his debut against the Championship side. Higuain has been brought in to score the goals that Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have lacked this season. The Argentine certainly has the credentials to be a success, but he needs to hit the ground running.Wednesday will be the 15th meeting between Bournemouth and Chelsea in all competitions. Chelsea have won 11 of the previous 14, while there has never been a draw between the two teams.Their last meeting at the Vitality Stadium ended in a 1-0 Chelsea win in December 2017 and Bournemouth have not actually overcome the Blues on home soil since September 1988.Southampton vs Crystal PalaceSt. Mary’s Stadium, HampshireWednesday, 30-01-2019 @10:45pmReferee: Andre MarrinerCrystal Palace travel to St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday evening to take on Southampton for this exciting midweek clash.? Palace head into the match on the back of an emphatic victory over London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup on Sunday. Roy Hodgson’s men scored twice in the first half to push aside Spurs and put their name in the hat for the next round.Southampton had a full week of rest during the FA Cup action, as the Saints were knocked out of the cup to Derby following a replay penalty shootout loss at St Mary’s. Despite missing the cup weekend their league form has been rejuvenated under Ralph Hassenhüttl, winning their past two games. The pair sit level on points in 14th and 15th place in the Premier League respectively as both clubs look to steer clear away from the relegation zone with an important win this weekend.Southampton welcomed back ?Danny Ings in their last Premier League fixture against Everton and could see Ryan Bertrand back in the squad on Wednesday. Bertrand has been out since late November and could return for the visit of Crystal Palace. Maya Yoshida continues to be absent as Japan reached the semi-final stage of the Asian Cup; Mario Lemina also remains sidelined for the Saints.Crystal Palace recently signed young Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri on loan from Sao Paolo in order to recover from their goalkeeping dilemma. Vicente Guaita and Wayne Hennessey both suffered injuries early this month leaving veteran Julian Speroni to return between the sticks. Pape Souaré will also miss out due to a shoulder injury.Southampton have had the better of the Eagles out their 107 meetings, winning 46 times and drawing 22. Their recent fixtures has seen varied results with both sides taking their share of the three points. The last stalemate between the sides came in February 2008. The reverse fixture this season saw a thrilling 2-0 win for Southampton at Selhurst Park. Danny Ings and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg both got on the score sheet in the second half to give Southampton the three points. That game however sparked a 12 game run without a win in the league for the Saints. Southampton also got the better of Wednesday’s opponents in the league cup when they also beat Palace by a 2-0 scoreline.Liverpool vs Leicester CityAnfield Stadium, LiverpoolWednesday, 30-01-2019 @11pmReferee: Martin AtkinsonWhile title rivals Manchester City were taking on Burton Albion in the EFL Cup and Burnley in the FA Cup, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp took his players to Dubai for some warm-weather training. The Reds headed into their winter break of sorts with a number of injury issues, which will not have fully cleared up for this return to top-flight action. Despite being knocked out of the FA Cup by Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month, though, and losing some key men to injuries, Liverpool have won back-to-back league matches to remain clear of Man City at the top. Since losing 2-1 to the champions, reducing the gap at the top from seven points to four, Klopp’s men have edged out Brighton 1-0 at the Amex Stadium – Mohamed Salah scoring a contentious penalty to settle that one – and defeated Palace 4-3 at Anfield. That thriller on January 19 gave Liverpool another chance to show their true character, as they battled back from a goal down and then 2-2 to pick up three points for the 19th time this season. The win over Palace also extended the Reds’ unbeaten run at Anfield to 32 matches in the Premier League – the longest such run in the division since Man City went 37 games without defeat between December 2010 and December 2012. Liverpool are also unbeaten in their last 19 home midweek games in the Premier League (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), winning 13 of those and drawing six since a 1-0 loss vs. Fulham in May 2012.Claude Puel never seems to be more than a couple of games away from being sacked, and three losses on the spin – including a shock FA Cup exit at Newport County – seemingly leaves him on the brink of exiting the King Power Stadium. Reports suggest that Leicester intend to push ahead with their transfer business over the remaining few days of the winter window, with Monaco’s Youri Tielemans a possible target, but Puel is surely now living on borrowed time. As well as losing to League Two side Newport at the third-round stage of the FA Cup – a decision that did not go down well with supporters due to a second-string XI being fielded – City have also lost to Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league.Dejan Lovren has returned to full training for Liverpool since the Palace win but may not be eased back into action, leaving Joel Matip as the obvious choice to fit in alongside key man Van Dijk if that is the case. Klopp still has a problem at right-back, though, as Alexander-Anorld is not over a knee issue, the versatile Joe Gomes is struggling with an ankle injury and makeshift defender James Milner is suspended. Fabinho himself able to slot into different positions, is therefore likely to start at right-back, and Georginio Wijnaldum should be available again after recently picking up a knee injury.Leicester will wait until the last minute before making a decision on Harry Maguire, meanwhile, with the centre-back limping off against Wolves in City’s most recent match. Daniel Amartey will definitely feature, but Puel does at least have options further up the field as Harvey Barnes and Demarai Gray are pushing for inclusion. One man expected to start is Jamie Vardy, who has scored seven goals against Liverpool – only Andy Cole (11) and Thierry Henry (8) have managed more.Liverpool have won their last three league games against Leicester – they last won four in a row against them between February 1987 and September 1986. City have lost six of their last seven away games against the Reds in the Premier League, with their only win at Anfield coming in May 2000. The reverse fixture earlier this season ended 2-1 to Liverpool.Tottenham Hotspurs vs WatfordWembley Stadium, London Wednesday, 30-01-2019 @11pmReferee: Graham ScottMauricio Pochettino would have been confident of reaching a cup final and expected a lengthy run in the FA Cup at this point last week, but the Argentine now has a huge job on his hands to lift a side which has been eliminated from two competitions in quick succession. Losing out to Chelsea on penalties in the EFL Cup semi-finals would have been difficult to take, but witnessing his players produce a below-par display in the 2-0 defeat at Palace in the FA Cup may have left Pochettino with doubts about the strength of his squad. Toby Alderwiereld, Dele Ali, Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane all played no part of the disappointment at Selhurst Park, but Pochettino witnessed how important those five men are to the club hitting their targets. Pochettino will be keen to avoid an over-reaction to seeing their hopes of a trophy this season left solely on the Champions League, although there needs to be an acknowledgement that Spurs are still moving no closer to achieving their long-term goals.Facing an in-form Watford side provides Spurs with their third significant test in less than a week, and it is going to take a big effort to find the energy levels and belief to grind out a result. The return of Son after international duty with South Korea is a major plus for Pochettino, but the attacker is likely to be as jaded as his teammates and the Spurs boss will not want to take any risks with a player who will take on extra responsibility in the coming weeks. However, it should still be remembered that this is a team who have still registered 12 points from their last six outings in the Premier League and for all of their recent criticism and fitness issues, results have still been recorded at an important stage of the season. Spurs may also benefit from a run of three successive home games in the top flight, but failure to defeat Watford on Wednesday will make matches with Newcastle United and Leicester City that little bit tougher. Many were surprised that Javi Garcia opted to make as many as 11 changes for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Newcastle, but the Spaniard was rewarded for showing faith in a set of players who have rarely let him down this season. Goals from Andre Gray and Isaac Success gave the club a deserved 2-0 win in the North-East, and Gracia was quick to suggest that he had a duty to provide chances to each member of his united squad at a time when the Hornets are threatening their best campaign in over 30 years. Watford have not finished in the upper half of the top-flight standings since ninth place was achieved back in 1986-87, a season which also saw the club reach the FA Cup semi-finals.Pochettino will hope to call upon Son for Wednesday’s game, but the forward will be assessed before a decision is made regarding his selection. Ben Davis, Alli and Kane remain out, but Moussa Sissoko should be in a position to return to the squad after a knee injury in order to take a place on the substitutes’ bench. Hugo Lloris will replace Paulo Gazzaniga between the sticks, while both Alderweireld and Eriksen will feature in the starting lineup having been rested at the weekend.Watford are likely to remain without Abdoulaye Doucoure, who is expected to be absent with a knee injury until at least the weekend. Gracia is expected to recall the majority – if not all – of the players who were rested at the weekend, meaning that Gray and Success could have to make do with a spot among the replacements.Wednesday’s meeting will represent the 48th competitive clash between the clubs, with Spurs prevailing on 30 occasions in comparison to Watford registering just eight victories. There have been eight matches since Watford regained promotion to the Premier League, and Spurs have recorded six triumphs and a draw since December 2015. However, the Hornets emerged victorious in the reverse fixture at Vicarage Road at the start of September.BET ON ALL THESE GAMES AND MANY MORE @Bunga BetComments
Nigerian hip hop artists, Yung L, Olamide, Ice Prince and Phyno, may be big in their home country but are little known outside of it. Music In Africa looks to change that, providing African musicians a platform to access network with artists around the world. (Image: Chocolate City Group) • Karoo music lends weight to TV series • South African jazz greats shine at London festival • Home-grown death metal helps ease Angolans’ pain • Music van de Caab keeps Khoi and San music alive • Voodoo funk: Ambassador of Afrobeat Shamin ChibbaMuch of the popular music coming out of Europe and the US today can trace its roots back to Africa, yet music from the continent is little known. Artists rarely find recognition beyond their own countries. But with the launch of Music In Africa, an online portal serving the continent’s music industry, African music may just get the international exposure it deserves. The South African editor of Music In Africa, David Durbach, explains that the resource is an information and exchange portal for the continent’s music sector, with a focus on education and networking among industry professionals. “We are trying to empower people working in the music industry by empowering the industry itself and by creating opportunities for the musicians. We are helping them expand their markets and their audiences not just in their own country but on the continent.”The Music In Africa Foundation is an NGO recently established with the support of the Goethe-Institute and Siemens Stiftung, two German cultural organisations with a large presence on the continent. “The plan is that these two institutes can give us a push start to becoming an independent organisation,” says Durbach. Born out of a needThough launched in July this year, the project took three years to come into existence. It was established out of a need to improve communication and reliable information between the various music industries in Africa. Because of lacks in these areas, Durbach says, African artists typically have to “crack it in Europe or the US before they [could] expand their market to the rest of Africa”.Such examples are the Ghanaian Afro-pop group, Osibisa, and South Africa’s Ladysmith Black Mambazo, both of which became popular overseas before they became widely known in Africa. “There is a huge need for networking opportunities in the industry, not just between musicians but anyone working in the industry, from producers to songwriters.“People in South Africa know very little about what is going on in Zimbabwe let alone Nigeria and East Africa. Yet there is a growing amount of interest. So there is no reason why people working in the music industry should not see themselves as part of a larger pan-African industry.”Those artists who go to the US and Europe struggle to keep in touch with their fans back home, he adds. “This is another way to bridge these two international and national markets.” Open to everyoneThe networking is not only restricted to those living in Africa; rather, it is open to the African diaspora. It is not limited by genre either. “We are not trying to discriminate. We are not saying to a rock musician in Bloemfontein or to someone making African music in New York, ‘You don’t belong on this website’. [It is for everybody who is] involved in African music in any kind of way. We try to be as inclusive as possible.”And Music In Africa is also a perfect tool for those international musicians looking to expand their reach into Africa, Durbach adds. Musicians are finding it more difficult to sell records nowadays and to make a living, they have to perform live. Africa presents local and international musicians with a lot of opportunities to make money at concerts and corporate events. With the internet, musicians are able to take more control over their careers without having to rely heavily on labels. Music In Africa therefore presents to these musicians a unique online portal to promote themselves and even link with promoters and operators for free, explains Durbach. Finding artistsMusic In Africa’s intention is to promote artists from all over Africa. It employs five full-time regional editors – based in Kinshasa, Lagos, Dakar, Nairobi and Johannesburg – whose mission is to find and chronicle music from their areas. These editors also commission articles from contributors. The website includes a directory, a magazine, news articles, updated artist biographies and educational resources. Durbach says the music education portal, which was set up in collaboration the Global Music Academy, will have multimedia tutorials on how to play instruments, music production, royalty collection and copyright law in various countries. The overview texts feature static content on specific aspects of the music industry in a particular country, such as the history of hip hop in Senegal or jazz in South Africa. “They are not written in a way that is opinionated. They are objective, Wikipedia-style entries that are simply written. Whether or not English or French is [the reader’s] first language, they will understand the content.” The futureThe organisation is already widening its reach. On 21 November, it staged launch events at the Salon International de la Musique Africaine in Dakar, Senegal and in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.Next year, Durbach says, Music In Africa will host more events such as workshops and competitions. And after all the countries of sub-Saharan Africa have been covered, it will look to break into North Africa, a region it has not covered yet.“It is a massive task and we are taking it step by step,” Durbach says of the organisation’s attempts at gathering as much information on African music as there is. “The continent is blessed with a lot of musical diversity and talented musicians and it is something that needs to be offered to the world. Music is something that we share.”

Chandrashekhar Azad, the fiery Dalit activist from Uttar Pradesh shot to prominence in 2017 when he was jailed for over a year for a Thakur-Dalit clash in Saharanpur. Called ‘Ravan’ by his followers, in a subaltern challenge to BJP’s Ram, Azad famously put up a signboard in his village that read, ‘The Great Chamars of Dhadkhauli Welcome You’.The 32-year-old, who leads the Bhim Army, is seen as one of the faces of an emerging radical Bahujan movement. With his twirled moustache, iconic dark blue scarf, and Enfield Bullet, Azad makes a statement wherever he goes, and it’s obvious he was the inspiration behind the character of Nishad in the recent Bollywood film, Article 15.He is in jail again, this time in Delhi, over protests against the demolition of Ravidas Mandir, a temple for poet-saint Ravidas of the 16th century who has a large Dalit following. He met The Hindu when he was in Karnataka a few days before his arrest. Excerpts:The demolition of the Ravidas Mandir has created a new flashpoint between Dalits and the Centre. But the government says it was the Supreme Court that ordered the demolition for violating zoning norms? It was the Delhi Development Authority that sought to demolish the temple, not the Supreme Court. The government used the court to achieve its end. The issue finally boils down to respecting Bahujan cultural symbols. PM Narendra Modi visited Ravidas Mandir in Varanasi earlier this year and said he was a devotee of Sant Ravidas. Now he must take the lead in restoring the temple or his hypocrisy will be exposed. We will launch a nationwide protest demanding its restoration on the same spot. The recent Bollywood film, Article 15, had a character modelled on you. Did you see the film? There has been criticism that instead of telling the story of caste oppression from the perspective of the Dalit, the movie did it from the perspective of a Brahmin officer. What is your take on this?I have not seen the film. But the opposition to the film by the upper castes and the right wing is telling of how the entire system works against Dalits. Maybe it is not time to tell the story from a Dalit perspective in the mainstream. Maybe the film wouldn’t have released at all if that were the case. But I have heard of recent films in the South with Dalit protagonists. I feel the progressives among the upper castes need to come forward to question caste hierarchy. But it is time we lead our struggles and tell our stories and those from other castes need to support us.Many are critical of the style of Bhim Army, though not its substance. They argue that violence only begets more violence. What is your take?We have the right to fight for our rights and don’t have to tolerate any oppression. It is time our voices rang louder on the streets. Bhim Army is Ambedkarite in its outlook — Educate, Organise and Agitate. We believe nothing comes without struggle and we are ready for any sacrifice. We are not attacking anyone, but if someone comes into our homes and hits us, we will not hesitate to retaliate in self-defence. When the system is so geared up against us, what else can we do? I was blamed for the violence in Saharanpur and arrested, but nobody speaks of the violence wrecked on us. The state brands Dalits who raise their voice as Naxals, as we have seen in Bhima Koregaon, and Muslims as terrorists.Does the rise of radical Dalit leaders and their large followings among the youth indicate the failure of mainstream Dalit politics?Mainstream Dalit parties have failed repeatedly. A student who has all the resources but fails exams repeatedly cannot claim to be a brilliant student. Most of our politicians today are crorepatis; they come from dynasties that don’t know our problems. We cannot let their failure fail the movement. These parties are severely compromised on the ideological front, including in allying with a brahminical party like the BJP. As these leaders remain stuck in AC rooms, the youngsters fight on the streets, giving rise to new leaders and a militant movement. The BJP now seeks to claim the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, even to defend the revoking of Article 370 in J&K. The BSP has supported the move. How do you view the government’s handling of Dalit issues?Brahminism is in the DNA of the BJP and its ideological mentor, the RSS. This seeks to impose the Manusmriti, which doesn’t allot any power to Shudras and Dalits. While we can become the President of India, we still cannot enter a temple. The social forces that this regime has emboldened, giving them impunity, have translated into increased atrocities against minorities, Dalits and tribals. Dalits are the biggest targets of lynchings, even more than Muslims. On Kashmir, the future of Dalits cannot be seen in isolation. It is linked with the aspirations of Kashmiris. It is better if BJP stops trying to appropriate Ambedkar as it is a legacy they can never claim and it only exposes their hypocrisy.RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for an open debate on reservations. The RSS-BJP has always been anti-reservation and their agenda is to subvert reservation. By giving reservation to the poor among upper castes, they have done exactly that. Reservation has always been about correcting social and educational backwardness, not economic. This government has been keen on disinvestment of PSUs, which essentially hits Dalits, as there is no reservation in the private sector. Mohan Bhagwat’s statement only reflects the anti-Dalit mindset of the RSS-BJP. We are ready for a debate on reservation with Mohan Bhagwat. Let us debate on what we have really got from reservation in the last seven decades. Even today 54% of Dalits don’t own any land. We will tell what we have gained and what we have lost because of caste in this society. The Opposition has failed to defeat BJP electorally, despite the Mahagathbandhan of the SP-BSP in UP. How can you counter the BJP, even as many aspirational Shudra and Dalit classes cosy up to the party? The only way to fight BJP is to take to the streets. They may have a majority in Parliament but we [Bahujans] have a majority on the streets. All pro-Constitution forces need to unite for this fight. Though we may have failed once, that should not deter us. More than political alliances between parties, we need to mobilise people on the ground. Any truck with the BJP is against the interests of the Bahujan community. We need to expose this and convince people. Was the SP-BSP alliance fraught with contradictions, as in the villages it is the OBCs and Dalits who are often in confrontation with each other? Is an OBC-Dalit alliance practical? We in the Bhim Army believe the Bahujan community includes all oppressed classes — Dalits, Adivasis, Shudras and minorities — and we will work towards bringing these classes together in the villages at a social level. Bahujan unity is the key to countering the larger Manuvad [parties] ruling us today. There has been an argument that the Left and Dalit movements must unite. Do you feel synergising these two mass movements is the way ahead?Bahujan politics is the politics of kamzor log (the weak) and we are ready to support anyone participating in these politics, in a pro-Constitution manner. I believe, while there may be several organisations working independently, we need to come together to fight on common issues, be it various Dalit organisations or even the Left. But enough of us voting others to make them leaders, now we want others to vote for our leadership. Historically, it is time this happened.Bhim Army is in expansion mode. Your success in UP has been organic. Can you replicate it elsewhere? Our success in UP is largely due to the Bhim Shaalas we run, evening and holiday schools in villages and slums where we educate Bahujan youth in English, help them with studies and impart political education to help them cultivate a Bahujan consciousness. Bhim Army runs 1,700 such schools in UP, which has given us a committed cadre. We will soon begin Bhim Shaalas across the country. India is a diverse land and we will factor that in. Bhim Army will be the loudest voice on the streets for Bahujans everywhere. Is Bhim Army on its way to becoming a political party or are you caught between remaining a social movement and entering electoral politics?Bhim Army is not averse to electoral politics, but it is not an organisation that is only political. We will always remain part of the larger Bahujan movement; electoral politics is only one of the means to further the cause. We follow both Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram and believe the Bahujan community, which has a majority in society, must come to power. You had dropped ‘Ravan’ from your name but now it is back?It is the people who lovingly called me Ravan for taking on the BJP. But I realised BJP was trying to polarise the people as supporters of Ram and Ravan in Varanasi when I announced I would contest against Narendra Modi. So, I announced I was dropping Ravan from my name. But now that the elections are over and people like calling me Ravan, it is firstname.lastname@example.org

APTN National NewsPosters were put up in Honour Walk offices and in strategic locations around the towns where form fillers were working, advertising a five per cent discount on computers for “members of the residential school healing society.” A toll free number was listed on the poster as well as a Web site link: www.nationalcomputersdirect.com.That Web link is now defunct and there is no trace anywhere online of any company called National Computers Direct. But a corporate search reveals that the company is listed as “active” as of Nov. 29. The registered owner of the company is David Hamm. That toll free phone number yields another very interesting connection to one of the healing society corporate officers. The number, which used to reach National Computers Direct, now reaches a Calgary-based company called Thermablade Hockey. A quick Google search of Thermablade Hockey reveals that David Hamm is the company’s CEO.On the Web site, Hamm claims that $15 million has been invested in the company already and it owns $2 million worth of equipment. The company makes skates with heated blades and claims those blades allow tighter turns and more rapid acceleration than conventional skates. A number of former NHL players endorse the product on the Web site.As we reviewed the files of IAP claimants on the Blood Reserve last summer, we noticed many loan agreements with two companies that were charging very high interest rates. The companies, Funds Now and Settlement Lenders, were lending money to former students against their IAP payments. We saw loan agreements charging interest rates as high as 29.9 per cent.Several of the former students allege that right after they signed the Honour Walk papers and became Blott and Company clients, the law firm would arrange loans for them that were to be repaid when the client received the eventual compensation settlement. Frequently the lender would also sell the claimants big-screen TVs, laptop computers and other electronics. One of the companies that lent money to former students was Funds Now, Inc. That company has two directors who are also the only two voting shareholders. Their names: Laura Hamm and David Hamm. The high interest rates can quickly erode even a six-figure settlement. At 30 per cent, the interest will come close to equaling the entire amount of the loan within three years. After the first year, you’re paying 30 per cent interest on the interest that accrued during the first year. If no payments are made over a three year period, you will end up payment more than 100 per cent of the loan in interest, plus the original balance. And some IAP claimants represented by Blott and company were waiting a long time to get their hearing. The Oversight Committee minutes rarely name names. But the minutes of the IAP Oversight Committee from a meeting held January 26, 2010 in Ottawa, show that the committee was concerned about a backlog of cases at Blott and Company.“Decision: Counsel David Blott will be asked for a file summary of how the firm will be moving forward on the approximately 1,000 outstanding claims he holds,” the minutes state.Jon Faulds said he tried to talk his clients out of borrowing at high interest rates.“Any time we get any indication that one of our clients is contemplating taking out such a loan, we try to discourage them from doing it because the interest rates and charges are just so high. I think we have had some success with our clients in making them aware of just how expensive those loans are,” he said. “Part of the difficulty is that many of the claimants in the residential school process are people who have little or limited access to banking support and whose ability to borrow money is not great. So when you find someone who is willing to lend you money, on the face of it, it appears attractive to get you through a difficult time while you’re waiting for your settlement to come in.”He reminded us that “there have been ongoing class actions against a number of these kinds of lenders, not in the residential school context necessarily but in the payday loan context, over the legitimacy and validity of their interest rates.”

Batman and Robin have been a staple of American entertainment for half a century. Everyone knows Batman is the boss and is always in control. No one would ever mistake the “Boy Wonder” for the “Caped Crusader.”Applied to the Ohio State men’s basketball team, Evan Turner would be Batman and William Buford would be Robin. But in order for the Buckeyes to make a deep NCAA Tournament run, something they are very capable of, Robin is going to have to play a more prominent role in OSU’s offense.Buford’s statistics are actually a bit puzzling. When Turner’s been in the lineup, Buford has put up 14 points a game. In Turner’s absence, Buford was good for 15 points a game — obviously not a big difference, but in order to understand Buford’s significance to the offense, one must dig deeper. The great thing about Buford is that he’s shown the potential to be a very dynamic offensive player. When his shot wasn’t falling against Wisconsin last month, Buford hit the glass and grabbed 12 rebounds. He had 10 assists in a win over Eastern Michigan earlier this season. On Jan. 31 versus Minnesota, Boy Wonder had his shot going. His form isn’t what you would call textbook, but when his high-arching jumpers are falling, it’s a thing of beauty. Buford finished with a career-high 26 points.College basketball isn’t the NBA. Teams can’t just ride a superstar player who can go one-on-five — a la LeBron James or Dwayne Wade — to the title. I’d argue the last team to win the national championship that truly rode the coattails of one player to the title would be the 1988 Kansas Jayhawks.Kansas lost 11 times that year, the most ever of any team to win the title. Entering the tournament, the Jayhawks were a No. 6 seed. But National Player of the Year Danny Manning and the “Miracles” would not be denied. In Kansas’ 83-79 victory over Oklahoma in the National Championship Game, Manning had 31 points, 18 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots. That was nearly 22 years ago and college basketball has evolved since then. The further Ohio State advances in the tournament, the more defenses will attempt to take Turner out of the game. Opposing coaches will attempt to conjure up some of the most preposterous game plans in an attempt to neutralize “The Villain.”OSU could see something similar to the triangle and two defense Loyola coach Jimmy Patsos used to hold former Davidson star Stephen Curry scoreless last season. Patsos knew his team couldn’t stop Curry, so he double-teamed Davidson’s sweet-shooting guard the entire game. Curry only got up three shots and didn’t score, but Davidson still won by 30.Obviously, it’s preposterous to think any coach would become that desperate in an NCAA Tournament game. However, a junk defense such as a box-and-one is not out of the question. That brings me back to Buford. He’s the only other player on Ohio State’s roster besides Turner who is a complete offensive player. Buford is capable of getting his own shot and finishing at the rim, at the foul line or beyond the arc. As sports clichés go, Buford is OSU’s “X-factor.”The key for Boy Wonder is to be an efficient scorer. Ohio State is only 7-6 when he has 12 or more field goal attempts. Forced shots and quick shots usually result in fast break points for the other team.If Buford can be a solid but not necessarily spectacular Robin, OSU fans may find the Bat Signal in the skies over Indianapolis, the site of this season’s Final Four.
Thorgan Hazard was a key figure in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin as he managed to score a brace and helped his team to come from behind after trailing 1-0.The Belgian knows that his side are in the crucial part of the season and they need every single point to gain a better spot in the Bundesliga table as they are still fighting to secure the European football for the season to come. The former Chelsea player spoke about this win as he said, according to borussia.de:Merson believes Arsenal should sign Sancho Manuel R. Medina – September 14, 2019 Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho might be the perfect player to play for the Gunners, according to former England international Paul Merson.“We weren’t at our best today and it wasn’t easy to turn the game around. After trailing 1-0, we scored but it wasn’t given and we kept going. We scored twice and won.”“If I’m honest, playing like we did and winning is far better than playing well and losing. At this stage of the season, it’s crucial. It means a lot for our confidence. I hope we can push on.”“I was happy once more yesterday. I hope I keep smiling but football is a team sport. Scoring goals is great but you have to win the game. When both happen, it’s even better.”
Red Star Belgrade boss Vladan Milojevic believes it’s essential his players maintain full concentration for their entire Champions League game against LiverpoolThe Serbian side will host Liverpool for their fourth fixture of Group C at the Rajko Mitic Stadium this evening. So far, Red Star have only collected a single point from three games and lie bottom of the group table. Therefore, defeat today will almost certainly ensure their elimination from the competition – depending on the outcome of the Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain game.“In every game, it is important that for 90 minutes you have concentration both in defense and in attack,” said Milojevic, according to Tribalfootball.Crouch: Liverpool could beat Man United to Jadon Sancho Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Peter Crouch wouldn’t be surprised to see Jadon Sancho end up at Liverpool one day instead of his long-term pursuers Manchester United.“Our opponent is a team that has been selected to win the Champions League. We have to do our best.“They use every moment. Their players punish even the smallest detail.“Simply, at this moment, all the teams in our group in the Champions League play in the three best leagues in the world.“And they are much stronger. This is our reality. We’ll do our best. We will fight for each ball.”The game between Red Star and Liverpool will begin at 18:55 (CEST).
Everton’s Leighton Baines believes that new team-mate Bernard’s intelligence can win them matchesThe Brazil international joined Everton on a free transfer last summer after his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk expired in June.Bernard has since featured in 18 of Everton’s 21 Premier League games this season and scored his first goal for the club in their 2-1 FA Cup win over Lincoln City on Saturday. But the 26-year-old’s most eye-catching asset at Goodison Park is his creativity and vision in the midfield with Bernard matching Gylfi Sigurdsson as Everton’s leading assists provider with three.“Bernard is definitely someone who can win us matches,” said Baines on the club website.Liverpool legend Nicol slams Harry Maguire’s Man United form Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Steve Nicol believes Harry Maguire has made some “horrendous mistakes” recently, and has failed to find his best form since joining Manchester United.“He is a guy who can link things together.“It is a very difficult thing in football sometimes to get space between the lines and link the midfield to the forwards but he does it with ease because he is such an intelligent footballer.“I am sure coming to England is not easy given the places where he has played his football before but he has settled really well and shows his unbelievable quality on a daily basis.”The Toffees will take on Bournemouth this Sunday in the Premier League.

Governor Dunleavy ended the message with proclaiming September 11, as Patriot Day in Alaska, and encouraged all Alaskans to take this day as one of service and compassion as we remember the events of that fateful day. “We will forever remember and honor the nearly 3,000 innocent Americans who lost their lives on that day, and remember their families, friends, and loved ones who continue to carry the memories of their lives forward. We recognize and honor the heroism of the first responders – the firefighters, police, emergency personnel, health care providers, and citizens who came to the aid of others during, and immediately following the attacks, some of whom laid down their lives while helping to evacuate and rescue others. He issued a video statement on Wednesday addressing the state of Alaska:“On September 11, 2001, the American people endured the worst terrorist attack on United States soil in the nation’s history, with courage and heroism. While the attacks were meant to divide our great nation, we responded by standing together in a remarkable display of the spirit of unity, resolve, and compassion for one another that represented the best of the American spirit. “On this day and every day, we as Americans reflect on the importance of freedom, liberty, patriotism, and love of our country, and are grateful for the privileges and rights that we hold as Americans. Let us honor and reflect on those we have lost, and stand firm in our resolve to defend and preserve our great nation and the freedom, which has made us so, and recommit to live in a spirit of unity and compassion that binds us together as Americans.” Facebook0TwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享Governor Mike Dunleavy has proclaimed today, September 11, as “Patriot Day” and has ordered all state and U.S. flags to fly at half-staff to honor victims and their families, first responders, caregivers, and service men and women. Alienware m15 15.6-inch 3,480 x 2,160 OLED display Alienware m15 Graphics Bluetooth Dell Google Samsung It’s possible that’s just a glitch, because the monitor reports itself as HDR capable but the integrated graphics driver thinks otherwise; it’s possible that’s caused by the operating system reporting incorrect specs to the driver. The screen does seem to meet the bare minimum HDR specs as required by VESA’s DisplayHDR 400 True Black specification, including wide color gamut coverage — in testing, it covered 106% of UHDA-P3, which is huge. That’s because it’s able to push the unsaturated primaries beyond the gamut’s edges. And its minimum black effectively measures as true black (i.e., 0 nits). I didn’t measure how long it could sustain its peak brightness, but it did overshoot the enough to compensate for any instability; in other words, its 492 nits peak in a 10% window was high enough that even though it started to drop immediately it would have taken a long time to drop below the 400 nit minimum. Even so, though it supports Windows HDR for streaming video, it’s nearly impossible to tell if it’s actually applying the setting. All video has more presence because of the native contrast, though. But there are other gaming-related expectations you need to manage as well. OLED screens only come in 4K, so you run into the fixed 60Hz refresh-rate limit. Depending upon the games you play, ugly frame-rate sync artifacts like tearing and stutter may overshadow the OLED’s pleasing pop and fast pixel response times. The system is fast, but not fast enough for consistent 60fps 4K gameplay (likely true even with the RTX 2080), and if you drop to a lower resolution for better frame rates, you’ll need to use software-based vsync or cap the frame rate to get best results.Windows’ color management is awful, and it doesn’t seem to know how to handle OLED screens. I could rant — and I will, elsewhere — but in this case, the implications for gaming boil down to gamma (how a system maps requested color brightness values to the capabilities of a display), which resulted in deep grays visually clipping to black on the m15. While the gamma measured 2.1 (slightly lower than the OS-expected 2.2, which it hits at a lower brightness level), the overall value obscures the flatness of the curve in the shadows, which isn’t a problem with non-OLED displays that don’t get down to zero black.Nor does it help that for the few games that do have gamma controls, many of the interfaces makes it nearly impossible to adjust properly because they provide no useful visual guidelines. The clipped blacks didn’t hurt too much in the moody-environment games I played except one — Sea of Solitude — which admittedly has the aforementioned awful gamma controls. To see the dark-gray-on-black monsters and Kay, the protaganist, required boosting the gamma, but that washed out the otherwise beautiful colors and bright flares. The screen’s deep blacks were made for games like Beholder 2. Screenshot by Lori Grunin/CNET Then there are the general drawbacks. OLED pixels emit light rather than using a backlight, which means it takes more power to hit a particular level of brightness, and the tradeoffs for that are battery life, heat, image retention and lifespan.Combined with driving a power-hungry 4K screen, that can potentially put a big dent in your unplugged time. Compared to the m15 we tested with a 144Hz HD display and GTX 1070, battery life dropped 1.1 hours (22%), from 6.6 to 5.5, though I really expected the difference to be more dramatic. So there’s that. But our streaming video test don’t reflect how a predominantly white background affects battery life. When writing this in Google docs, with its all-white screen (even at 70% brightness), the m15’s battery lasted a mere three hours — even with all the battery saving options maxxed out. Still, not that unusual for a gaming laptop. And even with panel self-refresh turned off in the Intel driver, there’s still periodic flicker, at least while working on an all white screen. So the bottom line is, at least for the moment, gamers won’t see a lot of benefits from OLED on this gaming system, unless all you care about are the blackest blacks you’ll ever see, which gives even a dim display terrific contrast, and a wide gamut with saturation dialed up to 11. While it hit a peak of about 519 nits, that was only for a 2% window in the center of the screen; full screen brightness tested at a maximum of about 492 nits. Those are with the system brightness set to 100%, though, which you really don’t want to leave it on, especially if you’re looking at a lot of white screens. You can always jack it up as desired for gaming. It’s actually more color accurate at lower brightness levels as well, set somewhere between 60 and 70%. The white point’s a little low (6038K) and the skin tones look meh in video, but it’s better than many displays with average delta E values below 4 on almost all counts (color, luminance and saturation tests). At about 70% system brightness, a comfortable level which doesn’t blow out your eyeballs while working, it has a typical full-screen brightness of about 195 nits. That doesn’t look quite as good on a normal IPS display because of the lower contrast.Where the sidewalk endsFirst, there’s the execution. The biggest issue is that the m15 doesn’t support HDR in games or wide-color gamut in applications. I’m still waiting to hear back from Dell about why. That’s what you get with an OLED display. But it’s not all fun and games, as I discovered after spending a couple weeks with an OLED-equipped Alienware m15.The configuration we went hands-on with isn’t available to buy: you can only get this model with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q, not the 2070 as we tested. With the same screen, that model will run you $2,700; the OLED screen is a $200 upgrade over the base model. The only manufacturer of OLED laptop panels is Samsung, and it only makes one panel at the moment. So every laptop with an OLED display uses the same panel. However, the implementation makes a big difference, so all laptop OLED screens do not perform the same. This one incorporates EyeSafe’s blue-light reduction technology, which accounts for the somewhat low white point, but didn’t induce any noticeable color shifts otherwise.Let’s start with the rhapsodizing. The initial visual impact while gaming? Wow. The dark blacks make everything else pop, and nonphotorealistic graphics with saturated colors get dialed up to 11. The bright red scanners in Beholder 2’s dreary brown, gray and black world seem even more chilling, while the other intensified splashes of color add contrapuntal surrealism. It pepped up Sinking City’s relatively flat tonality almost enough to overlook its myriad flaws. And staring at the OLED screen was great for working. Even with the brightness set as low as 50%, the technology’s naturally high contrast makes working on a typical web screen (Google docs, in this case) for hours a lot easier on the eyes than most laptop displays.

ShareTweet Det Supt Ryan Henderson of the PSNI’s Public Protection Branch launch its Christmas domestic abuse campaignTHE PSNI has launched its annual domestic abuse Christmas campaign and its message to victims across Derry is clear: Don’t suffer in silence.Scheduled to run until mid-January, the aim of the campaign is to encourage the reporting of incidents and show victims they can take steps to stop it. “Unfortunately, however, we know over the Christmas period incidents of domestic abuse rise and when we look at the figures from last year’s campaign, which ran from 15 December until 16 January.“The highest level of incidents reported to police was on New Year’s Day when we received a total of 142 calls for help compared to 147 the previous year. “On Christmas Day 2017, there were 84 incidents reported to us compared to 96 from the previous year.“Looking at the overall statistics from 1 October 2017 until 30 September 2018 there were 31,008 domestic abuse incidents recorded; an increase of 1,582 (5.4 per cent) on the previous 12 months. “The figures are the highest of any 12-month period since PSNI started recording data in 2004/05.“These stark figures tell us more victims are finding the courage to pick up the phone and make a report, which is encouraging, but we must always remember behind each statistic is a victim. “What is also alarming is that we respond to an incident of domestic abuse every 17 minutes. “Unfortunately, many incidents of domestic abuse still go un-reported, but we hope this campaign will go some way towards changing that and will encourage anyone impacted by domestic abuse to report it to us. “Domestic abuse is a terrifying crime, which can have a long lasting impact and it can affect anyone, and often leaves victims feeling isolated and alone. “Our role is about prevention, protection and prosecution; to prevent further violence, to protect the victim, children and other vulnerable people and to facilitate the prosecution of offenders. We want anyone impacted by domestic abuse to know there is help out there.”In March of this year, the Department of Justice launched a new scheme – The Domestic Violence and Abuse Disclosure Scheme (DVADS) – aimed at helping to protect people from becoming a victim of domestic violence or abuse. It allows a person to make enquiries confidentially to police when they have concerns their partner has a history of abusive behaviour. This allows them to make an informed choice about an existing personal relationship. An application can also be made by a third party who knows them and has concerns.Since the introduction of the scheme on 26th March until 30 November, there were 177 applications submitted. Ten disclosures were made. Detective Superintendent Henderson from the Public Protection Branch said: “Previously, it would have been difficult for someone entering a new relationship to find out, or be aware if their new partner had any prior convictions for violence ordomestic abuse. “This scheme makes it possible for people to take that extra step if they are concerned to do what they can to protect themselves. “I want to encourage anyone suffering from domestic abuse to call their local police on the non-emergency 101 or, in an emergency, always call 999.“A 24-hour Domestic and Sexual Violence Helpline is available to anyone who has concerns about domestic or sexual violence, now or in the past on 0808 802 1414.”Additional information:Please see below link to report: Domestic Abuse Incidents and Crimes Recorded by the Police in Northern Ireland: Quarterly Update to 30 September 2018 (Published 29 November 2018)https://www.psni.police.uk/globalassets/inside-the-psni/our-statistics/domestic-abuse-statistics/2018-19/q2/_domestic-abuse-bulletin-sep-18.pdfVictims of domestic violence urged not to ‘suffer in silence’ this festive season was last modified: December 13th, 2018 by John2John2 Tags: DET SUPT RYAN HENDERSONdomestic abusePSNIPUBLIC PROTECTION BRANCHVictims of domestic violence urged not to ‘suffer in silence’ this festive season The campaign’s message is ‘If you feel like you’re walking on eggshells that’s domestic abuse’.
