Alta. Energy Royalties

first_img– Advertisement – By Energeticcity.ca staffThe president of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers says the Alberta government has taken a major step in the right direction. Dave Collyer was commenting on plans announced by the Stelmach government, to reduce royalty rates for conventional oil and natural gas next year. However, not everybody is happy with the decision, and most of the opposition is coming from the left of the political spectrum.N-D-P Leader Brian Mason is trashing the Tory government over the move, claiming it has caved in, to energy industry pressure. In defending the initiative, Energy Minister Ron Liepert says the province was lagging behind other jurisdictions in terms of competitiveness. It remains to be seen what impact the move might have on those other jurisditions…but, we could get our first assessment in this area next week, when 77 parcels covering more than 25,000 hecatres are offered in the March Sale of Natural Gas and Petroleum rights.last_img read more

DONEGAL GAA STARS GET BEHIND CHARITY CYCLE RIDE

first_imgCounty players Mark Mc Hugh and David Walsh were present in Donegal Town on Tuesday afternoon to launch the Temple Street Charity Cycle. Mark Mc Hugh also presented a signed County Jersey, on behalf of MCM Spirits. The jersey will be raffled after the cycle, at a fundraising table quiz in The Glen Head Tavern, at 7pm on September 9th.Fitness enthusiasts and amateur cyclists alike who are ‘gearing up’ for a major fundraising cycle on Sunday, September 9th, got a major boost when county stars Mark McHugh and David Walsh officially launched the event. On that date over one hundred cyclists are expected to make the 58 kilometre trip from Donegal Town to Glencolmcille, as a fundraising initiative for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. And in honour of the County Team’s impending All-Ireland final appearance, all cyclists are being asked to don the Donegal jersey in a show of support for Jim and the lads. The event has been organised by CLG Naomh Columba, Gleann Cholm Cille, in conjunction with The Reveller Bar, Donegal Town, and is the second part of a double-fundraiser, which also saw a charity football match held in the Southwest club’s grounds on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Organisers have been delighted with the response to the cycle thus far, with bike sales booming in the Southwest area, and cyclists of all ages and abilities signing up.Despite the just-for-fun ethos of the event, there have been reports of early morning and late night training sessions in both Glen and Donegal Town, plus numerous sightings of Naomh Columba footballers in Tour de France mode on the hills of Glengesh and Maghera!Cyclists who have already registered have been issued with sponsorship cards, however unregistered cyclists can turn up on the day and take part, with a registration fee of €20 donated to the charity. Registration will take from 8.45am to 9.30am at Páirc na nGael in Glencolmcille, and from 11am on the Diamond in Donegal Town.Anyone travelling from Glencolmcille can avail of specially organised bus transfer, and bikes will also be transported. The cycle will depart the Diamond, Donegal Town at 12 noon, and will stop over in Killybegs, before winding it’s way up Fintra and in through to Glen. All cyclists will make their way to the clubhouse at Páirc na nGael for hot showers, before finishing up at the Glen Head Tavern, where there will be a barbeque from 5pm, followed by a table quiz at 7pm.Organisers are reminding everyone intending to take part that it is compulsory to wear a helmet. Anyone wishing to help out on the day can call into The Reveller Bar, or check out CLG Naomh Columba on Facebook.DONEGAL GAA STARS GET BEHIND CHARITY CYCLE RIDE was last modified: August 28th, 2012 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:DONEGAL GAA STARS GET BEHIND CHARITY CYCLE RIDElast_img read more
