The Forpoh Youth Development Association in Liberia (FOYDAL) Inc, of Grand Kru County has commended Madam Mary T. Broh for her excellent work that ensured the successful co-hosting of the 2015 national independence celebration in the county.A press release signed by its president Hanson T. Doe said, “We are satisfied and deeply appreciate Madam Mary T. Broh, for her excellent work which introduced the success story for the Independence Day Celebration in the southeastern region especially in Grand Kru County.”FOYDAL said development initiatives completed in the wake of the 2015 celebrations have brought a measure of relief to the people of Grand Kru and Sinoe Counties. The organization commented on the abortive 2014 preparation for the country’s independence in which several projects could not be completed due to unfavorable official position in the county. In 2014, there were countless meetings held in Monrovia amongst Grand Kru County citizens and from these meetings, a technical committee was set up, which Mr. Francis F. Wreh was appointed as technical chairman and Mr. James Torh as co-chairman, the release said.FOYDAL also recounted the lack of transparency in financial management that went on in the county that ensured that the 2014 celebration in the two counties was cancelled. The longtime preparation, which later resulted in the cancellation of the 2014 celebration through a communication addressed to the President of Liberia by the both counties’ legislatures, was blamed on bad road condition. While regretting the events that made the 2014 attempt unrealized, FOYDAL expressed gratitude to Madam Mary Broh and her corps of officers for an exceptional role carried in Grand Kru and Sinoe that ensured a measure of progress that has delighted citizens of the two counties.FOYPAL called on the government to ensure the proper use of funds to the county to complete projects, including a youth center, 150 bedroom guest house, a mini sports stadium, the chief compound and other important areas in the district. The organization commended Madam Broh for the completion of the Barclayville City Hall and other projects that were dedicated, including the Presidential Palace and the Court House.FOYDAL called on Grand Kru Superintendent Elizabeth Dempster to lead a campaign to ensure that better infrastructures are created for the benefit of the people.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)
